1. What We Collect (and what we don't)
We practice data minimization: we collect only what helps your planning. Required: your email (for sign-in) and four core details — grade level, graduation year, target country/countries, and program/career interest. Optional (you can skip any of these): a display name, residency/applicant status (including “Prefer not to say”), academic average, and — only if you target U.S. schools — GPA and SAT/ACT, plus budget range and study preferences. We also keep the application data you choose to track (saved schools, deadlines, statuses, scholarship interests) and standard security logs. We do NOT collect phone number, home address, school name, government ID, immigration documents, transcripts, medical/disability information, or financial-account details.
2. How We Use It
Your data is used to operate HumXapply for you: matching institutions and scholarships to your profile, generating your deadline timeline, and giving the AI advisor the context it needs to provide personalized guidance. Messages you send to the AI advisor, along with relevant profile context, are processed by our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate responses; they are not used to train their models under our API agreement.
3. What We Never Do
We never sell your personal data. We never share your profile, grades, or application activity with universities, colleges, or other institutions. Your data is yours.
4. Payments
HumXapply is operated and sold by 1001117935 Ontario Inc. (a HumXedge Platform). One-time Season Pass payments are processed by Stripe, which also calculates applicable Canadian GST/HST at checkout. Your card details are sent directly to Stripe and never touch our servers. We store only your plan status and a Stripe customer reference.
5. Storage & Security
Data is stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies so each account can only access its own records. All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access to production data is restricted and logged.
6. Students & Minors
HumXapply is designed for high-school students, many of whom are minors. We collect only the information needed to provide the planning service, and we recommend involving a parent, guardian, or counselor in your application decisions. Parents or guardians may contact us to review or delete a minor's data.
7. Your Rights
Optional details can be left blank or removed at any time in Profile & Settings without losing core functionality. You can request a copy of your data or full account deletion by emailing hi@humxedge.com from your account address — we will action deletion requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements. Always verify important admission information (deadlines, requirements, tuition, scholarships) with official institution websites.
