Privacy Policy

We practice data minimization: we collect only what helps your planning. Required: your email (for sign-in) and four core details — grade level, graduation year, target country/countries, and program/career interest. Optional (you can skip any of these): a display name, residency/applicant status (including “Prefer not to say”), academic average, and — only if you target U.S. schools — GPA and SAT/ACT, plus budget range and study preferences. We also keep the application data you choose to track (saved schools, deadlines, statuses, scholarship interests) and standard security logs. We do NOT collect phone number, home address, school name, government ID, immigration documents, transcripts, medical/disability information, or financial-account details.

Technical and measurement data. When you use HumXapply we also process limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages of our website you visit. If you arrive through one of our advertising or partner links, we record which campaign brought you (for example the campaign, ad set and ad identifiers, and whether the link came from Meta) and the name of the website that referred you (not the full address) in a first-party cookie on our own domain for up to 30 days; if you then create an account, we keep that information with your account. See “Cookies, analytics and advertising measurement” below.

Your data is used to operate HumXapply for you: matching institutions and scholarships to your profile, generating your deadline timeline, and giving the AI advisor the context it needs to provide personalized guidance. Messages you send to the AI advisor, along with relevant profile context, are processed by our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate responses; they are not used to train their models under our API agreement.

Your choices. When you first visit, we ask which optional categories you allow. You can choose “Accept all”, “Reject optional”, or “Customize”. Optional categories stay off unless you turn them on. Your core HumXapply service remains available whichever optional choices you make. You can reopen these choices at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of our pages. If you're under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before turning on optional categories.

Necessary (always on). Cookies and similar storage needed to sign you in, keep the service secure, and remember your cookie choices.

Analytics (optional). If you allow it, we use PostHog to understand which features help students. We send only specific product events (for example, that a page or feature was used), never the content you type, and we do not record your sessions. We never send your grades, messages to our AI advisor, or application details to our analytics provider.

Advertising measurement (optional, off by default). If you allow it, we use Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to measure whether our ads lead to people visiting our home page, creating an account, starting a checkout, or buying the Season Pass. This happens in two ways:

• In your browser: the Meta Pixel runs on our public home page only, and only after you allow Advertising measurement. It reports that the page was viewed (PageView), together with information Meta's tools collect, such as the page address, your IP address, browser information, and Meta's own cookies. It does not run on sign-up, sign-in, your account pages, billing, help or legal pages.
• From our servers: when you create an account (CompleteRegistration), start a checkout (InitiateCheckout), or complete a purchase (Purchase), we send Meta a notice of that event using Meta's Conversions API.

The information we send Meta for these events is limited to: the type and time of the event; a pseudonymous identifier generated from your account (not your name or email address); for checkouts and purchases, the price before tax and the currency; and, for account creation and checkout, technical information from your browser (IP address, browser information, and Meta's own cookie identifiers, if present).

What we do not send to Meta. We do not send Meta your name, email address, phone number, grades, GPA, SAT/ACT or other test scores, graduation year, schools or programs you save, application lists, information or statuses, essays, documents or file names, messages to or answers from our AI advisor (Ask Hux), scholarship or financial-aid information, citizenship, immigration or residency information, your onboarding answers, whether you are a student or a parent, or anything you write in your profile.

Changing your mind. You can turn Analytics or Advertising measurement off at any time in “Cookie settings”. Withdrawing consent stops that measurement from then on; it does not undo information that was already sent while it was on. Meta processes the information it receives under its own terms and privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your profile, grades, or application activity with universities, colleges, or other institutions. We share limited information with service providers only as described in this policy — for example Stripe for payments, OpenAI for the AI advisor, PostHog for optional analytics, and Meta for optional advertising measurement.

HumXapply is operated and sold by 1001117935 Ontario Inc. (a HumXedge Platform). One-time Season Pass payments are processed by Stripe, which also calculates applicable Canadian GST/HST at checkout. Your card details are sent directly to Stripe and never touch our servers. We store your plan status, a Stripe customer reference, and a record of each purchase or refund (the price, discount, tax and total amounts, currency, and the related Stripe transaction references). We never store your card details.

Data is stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies so each account can only access its own records. All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access to production data is restricted and logged.

HumXapply is designed for high-school students, many of whom are minors. We collect only the information needed to provide the planning service, and we recommend involving a parent, guardian, or counselor in your application decisions. Parents or guardians may contact us to review or delete a minor's data. Optional analytics and advertising measurement are off unless turned on in “Cookie settings”. If you are under 18, please involve a parent or guardian before turning on optional categories.

Optional details can be left blank or removed at any time in Profile & Settings without losing core functionality. You can change or withdraw your analytics and advertising choices at any time from “Cookie settings”; this applies from that point forward. You can request a copy of your data or full account deletion by emailing hi@humxedge.com from your account address — we will action deletion requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements. Always verify important admission information (deadlines, requirements, tuition, scholarships) with official institution websites.
