Help & FAQ

Always verify with official sources
Always verify important admission information — deadlines, requirements, tuition, and scholarships — on official institution websites.
What documents do I usually need?
Commonly: transcripts, proof of English proficiency (e.g. TOEFL/IELTS for international applicants), test scores where required, recommendation/reference letters, a personal essay or statement of purpose, and supplementary forms or portfolios for specific programs. International students often also need proof of funds. Requirements vary by school and program — always confirm on the official admissions page.
How do I compare programs?
Use the Explore tab to save programs, then weigh fit factors that matter to you: admission average vs. your grades, location and cost, co-op/work-integrated options, program length, and required supplementary materials. Saving programs also lets HumXapply auto-generate their deadlines for your timeline.
How do I use the application tracker?
Create one application per program you're applying to, set its round and deadline, and update the status as you progress (Not Started → In Progress → Submitted → Decision). Keeping statuses current also makes the AI advisor's guidance more accurate when you do use it.
How should I manage deadlines?
Check the Timeline tab regularly. Deadlines are auto-generated when you save programs, and you can add your own (e.g. reference-letter requests). Treat every auto-generated date as a starting point and verify the exact deadline on the official university or application-portal page — dates change every cycle.
What are the basics of scholarships?
Scholarships are usually merit-based (grades/achievements) or need-based (financial circumstances); some are external (foundations, community groups) and some are awarded automatically on admission. Many have deadlines earlier than application deadlines, so start early. Use the Scholarships tab to track ones you qualify for.
How should I approach my essay / statement of purpose?
Start with an authentic story or motivation, keep it specific to you, and connect your experiences to why this program fits. Outline first, then draft, then revise for clarity and concision. HumXapply's advisor can help you brainstorm and review drafts — but it will coach you, not write the essay for you. Submitting work that isn't your own can violate academic-integrity rules.
How accurate is the information here?
HumXapply is a planning tool, not an official source. Deadlines, admission averages, tuition, and program requirements change every year. Always verify anything important on the official institution's website or with your school counselor before acting on it.
What HumXapply is (and isn't)
